ARCHITECTURE, DECORATIVE ART AND DESIGN
INSTITUTIONS

The Danish Centre for Architecture is a commercially-run foundation. Its objective is to act as an information and development centre for architecture and building culture with a view to generating contact and building bridges between architecture as art and building as a commercial enterprise. The centre is also entrusted with increasing interest in and awareness of quality in our physical surroundings.

The Royal Danish Academy Library Collection of Drawings is the oldest of its kind in the world and consists of approximately 150,000 large-scale Danish architectural drawings. The collection is composed primarily of original drawings by Danish architects.

The Danish Arts Foundation Committee of Architecture supports architects with scholarships, work and travel grants, etc. It is also within the committee’s province to support architectural competitions and the preparation of outline projects.

Danish Crafts is responsible for providing and enhancing the level of information available on Danish arts and crafts as well as for seeking new markets for Danish arts and crafts at home and abroad.

The Danish Arts Foundation Decorative Art and Design Committee supports creative, professional artists.

Additional State support to arts and crafts and decorative art and design includes the National Workshops for Arts and Crafts, the Danish Museum of Decorative Art, the Trapholt Museum of Art and the various schools of design.
