The possibilities of earning money from culture have become better with the development of the ”experience economy”. Funds and enterprises want to brand themselves with culture. Creative, artistic competences can be made use of in the enterprises and help to increase their earnings through design, aesthetics, enhancing creative and innovative processes etc.
At the same time the Ministry of Culture is to contribute to developing the business potential in cultural life. Cultural businesses such as games, film, music, design etc. are independent growth factors which must be given the very best possibilities for growth and development for the benefit of the country as a whole.
The Centre for Culture and Experience Economy
The Centre for Culture and Experience Economy is an independent public institution founded in 2008 by the Ministry of Culture and the Ministry of Economics and Business Affairs. The establishment of the Centre for Culture and Experience Economy is based on a broad political agreement entered in 2007 regarding strengthening the culture and business economy in Denmark.
The Centre for Culture and Experience Economy works to improve the conditions for growth through better interaction between the business sector and cultural life, including strengthening the business competences of the cultural sector. The centre’s target group is Danish enterprises in general which could benefit from integrating and using creative competences and experience elements in products and services, as well as actors in cultural life who wish to interact with the business community.
